Why standby power is different

A standby generator only has one job, and it only gets one chance to do it.

When the power drops in a hospital, a long-term care home or a residential tower, nobody gets a second attempt.

GenWorx Power Systems looks after standby generators across Ontario. We service them, repair them, test them under load and keep the records that prove it was all done properly. Our team has over 50 years of experience in emergency power, and we work on every major make — so whatever is sitting in your generator room, we can look after it.

What we do

Six services that keep a generator ready to run

Each one is a normal part of looking after a standby generator. Take them all as a package, or take only the ones your building actually needs.

Load Testing

We put your generator under a real electrical load to prove it can carry the building, not just start.

Thermal Imaging

A thermal camera finds hot connections and failing parts before they burn out.

Fuel Polishing

Diesel goes bad in storage. We clean the fuel and the tank so the engine gets what it needs.

Fluid Analysis

Lab testing of oil, coolant and fuel tells us what is wearing out inside the engine.

Diagnostics

Something is wrong and nobody knows why. We find the actual cause.

General Repairs

From a failed battery charger to a full engine repair, on any make.

One provider

All makes. One contract. One number to call.

Cat. Cummins. Kohler. Generac. MTU. Detroit Diesel. And plenty of others.

If you manage several buildings, you probably have several different brands of generator. You should not need a different service company for each one. GenWorx is an all-makes provider, which means one contract, one schedule and one point of contact for the whole portfolio.

CSA maintenance packages

Meeting the CSA requirements is your responsibility. Making it simple is ours.

We offer complete packages covering the weekly, monthly, semi-annual and annual inspections, with the documentation handled properly so it stands up when someone asks to see it.

If your own staff already do some of the work in-house, we will build a modified plan that fills in the gaps instead of charging you twice.

Client reviews

What our customers say

Lost power in every storm until a whole-home standby system went in. Rick and the install team finished the job in a single cold December day, in spite of everything an older house could throw at them.

John
Homeowner, Ontario

Called GenWorx out to troubleshoot the generator. Rick is the kind of quality technician every business struggles to find — and the after-hours weekend callback was handled just as well.

Evan
Lake house owner, Ontario

Installation day ran smoothly from start to finish. Crew, project manager and the finished result were all better than expected, and the system proved itself during an outage the very next night.
